The Witcher 3 Blood and Wine

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Blood and Wine review

Geralt has one last journey ahead of him. “Wild Hunt – Blood and Wine” will bring the feel of the Witcher universe back to users. New territories will be available for exploration. The review says that the land of blood and wine conceals many dangers, exciting plots, and surprises.

Game features

CD Project RED developers have been creating the Witcher universe for 10 years. The Witcher series of role-playing games has brought the Polish company worldwide fame. The team’s talent is also not to be denied. The success of the first part did not intoxicate the developers, but forced them to work in the sweat on the next parts of The Witcher. Many people thought that we can’t jump over the head, but the third Blood and Wine series proved otherwise.

The beginning of the White Wolf story involves a message board. The knights of the distant Duchy of Toussaint need the help of Master Geralt. The prologue contains a mission to Velen. This is done for one reason – to get a feel for the difference between the two universes. Having resolved the settlement of No Man’s Land, Geralt’s journey begins. Into Her Majesty’s territory comes the Bestia. He kills noble nobles. A perfect target for the Witcher!

The prologue of Wild Hunt – Blood and Wine is typical of the entire Witcher series: a list of vivid adventures that flow from one to the other. After appearing in Toussaint, a challenge awaits us: a battle in the arena with a new monster. Having defeated him, the plot continues on an unpredictable trajectory.

The Gameplay Environment

The setting of Toussaint stands in stark contrast to the landscapes found in other installments. The terrain is peaceful and the views are similar to those of France or Italy. The developers must have been inspired by the atmosphere of Provence or Tuscany. The backgrounds aren’t as contrasting or bright, but rather more subdued, making the game play a calmer experience. In Toussaint there are many elegant buildings, beautiful paths, and green spaces. However, despite the outward serenity, the locals have just as many problems (if not more) than the inhabitants of the lands from the previous parts.

A separate consideration is the local population. The population is made up mainly of art aficionados: writers, poets and sculptors. There are also winegrowers, of course. Difficulties are largely due to the activities of the citizens. The essence of some of the problems will make the player smile. But the ridiculousness of the problems does not diminish the emotion: there are many dangerous creatures in Toussaint, an indulgence in the fight against which would lead to imminent death. There are new ways to enhance the protagonist in the game, and as an additional level of armour improvement, the Grandmaster.

Strengths and weaknesses

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Blood and Wine series is intense and vivid. A fascinating journey through a parallel universe makes you forget about everything, immerse yourself in the game.  It has a lot of advantages:

  • the thrilling plot;
  • unpredictable battles;
  • new options and story twists;
  • new territory with a unique atmosphere;
  • varied and detailed missions (some with an element of humour).

At several points, the game’s difficulty level reaches a prohibitive level. For newcomers this is a minus, but fans of “The Witcher” are not used to the intricacy of the plot. Of the disadvantages, we can note the need to shake the unruly Plotva. At this point, perhaps, the game’s disadvantages are over. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Blood and Wine is a new part of The Witcher. The developers competently built up the plot, created a fascinating atmosphere, and made the passing of separate missions as difficult as possible. In the RPG segment, this is another masterpiece from CD Project RED.
